Welcome to BizGrid.lk. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or list your business. By using our services, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that helps us provide a better reach for your business:

• Business Details: Name, address, contact numbers, and images provided for your listing.
• Account Information: Email addresses and login credentials.
• Usage Data: IP addresses, browser types, and interaction with our platform.

Statistics for business owners

To show owners how their listing performs, we count profile views, button clicks (call, WhatsApp, website, directions), the page you came from and searches made on BizGrid.lk. We do not store your IP address: each visit is counted with a code made from it that changes every day and can’t be turned back into the address. Owners only ever see totals, never who you are. When you send an enquiry, your name, email, phone (if given) and message are sent to the business and kept in its enquiry inbox on BizGrid.lk.

Reviews

When you write a review, your star rating, title and text are published on the profile or product you reviewed, with your first name and the initial of your last name. Your email address is never shown. The owner of the listing is emailed a copy of the review. If you report a review, it is flagged for our admins to check; who reported it is never shown to the writer or the owner. You can edit your review at any time; to have it deleted, contact us.

Appointment requests

When you request an appointment with a professional, your name, email, phone number, chosen service, preferred date and time and message are sent to the professional by email and kept in their Bookings inbox on BizGrid.lk, so they can accept or decline and contact you. We email you their reply.

Professional profiles

If you create a professional profile, the details you add (such as your name, photo, profession, bio, qualifications, registration number, services, portfolio and contact details) are published on your profile as your plan allows. You can change or remove them from your dashboard at any time.

Signing in with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn

If you choose “Continue with Google”, “Continue with Facebook” or “Continue with LinkedIn”, that service asks for your permission and then shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, plus an ID number that links your account to it. We do not receive your password, contacts, posts or messages, we cannot post on your behalf, and we do not keep the access key the service gives us after you have signed in. We keep a copy of your profile picture as your account photo. You can remove BizGrid.lk from the connected apps in your Google, Facebook or LinkedIn settings at any time; to delete your BizGrid.lk account and the linked information, contact us.

OpenStreetMap auto-fill

When you use “Auto-fill from OpenStreetMap” while adding a business, the name you type is sent from our server to the OpenStreetMap search service (Nominatim, run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation) to find matching places; your IP address and account details are not sent. The public details of the place you choose are used to fill in the form. Only what you submit is saved to your listing, together with the OpenStreetMap ID of that place. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your login details confidential.

BizGrid.lk uses a small number of its own cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms against misuse (a security token) and remember your preferences. These are needed for the site to work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block our own cookies, signing in and submitting forms will not work.

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device type and pages viewed. We also count profile views and button clicks (for example “Call” or “WhatsApp”) so business owners can see how their listing performs; these counts are shown to owners as totals and do not identify you.

8. Enquiries and contact messages

When you send an enquiry from a business profile, your name, email address, optional phone number and message are emailed to that business so it can reply to you. When you use our contact form, your message is sent to the BizGrid.lk team. We keep a record that an email was sent (recipient, subject, date) to investigate delivery problems and abuse.

You can update your business details at any time from your dashboard. To ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and listings, email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
