BizGrid.lk lists businesses across Sri Lanka, from manufacturers and importers to restaurants, repair shops and professional services. This guide shows how to get from “I need someone who can…” to a useful reply as quickly as possible.

Decide how you want to search

There are two main ways to find businesses:

  • Search. Type what you need into the search box on the home page or the directory. Search looks at business names, the keywords owners have chosen and speciality names, so try the words a business would use to describe itself, such as “catering”, “CCTV installation” or “tyres”.
  • Browse by industry. Each industry has its own page showing every approved business in it, the specialities within it and the districts they are based in. This is useful when you don’t know the exact term to search for.

Narrow down by location

For services that come to you, such as repairs, cleaning or construction, choose your district first. For products that can be delivered, you may get better prices by widening the search to neighbouring districts or the whole country. On an industry page, tap a district name to filter the list; tap it again to remove the filter.

Compare profiles

Open two or three profiles and compare:

  • What they actually do. The description and speciality tell you whether the business handles jobs like yours.
  • How long they have been operating. The year established is shown on every profile.
  • How easy they are to reach. Businesses that list a landline, a WhatsApp number, an email address and a website are usually easier to deal with.
  • The Verified badge. This shows that our team has confirmed the business’s registration details.

Send an enquiry that gets a useful answer

The more precise your first message, the more precise the reply. A good enquiry includes:

  • what you need, with quantities, sizes or models;
  • where it is needed and by when;
  • any constraints, such as budget, colours or brands you prefer;
  • how you would like to be contacted.

For example: “We need 500 printed paper bags, 25 × 30 cm, two-colour logo, delivered to Nugegoda by 15 March. Please send a quotation including delivery.” This is far more likely to get a same-day price than “Price?”.

You can send an enquiry from the form on the profile page, which goes to the business’s email address, or use the Call and WhatsApp buttons for quicker questions.

Ask more than one business

For anything beyond a small purchase, contact at least two or three businesses. Comparing quotations helps you understand the normal price range and spot offers that are unrealistically cheap. Keep your requirements identical so you are comparing like with like.

Before you pay

Once you have chosen a supplier, take a few minutes to confirm their registration details and get the agreement in writing. Our guide How to check a Sri Lankan business before you work with it has a short checklist.

Help us keep the directory accurate

If a business has closed, moved or changed its phone number, please use the Report this listing link on its profile. Reports are reviewed by our team and help the next person who searches.
